Don’t really understand how these players are opportunities for VT.


I wish they were. Two of those three players had blue blood offers. We offered both of those like a zillion other schools did. The other didn’t have those offers but had a UVa offer and ended up going to Miami (during which time we were going through the JJ years and having a hard time recruiting anybody). But, about the kids with those blue blood offers - VT has invested a lot of recruitment effort in players who looked promising to come to VT only to be dropped like a rock when the blue blood offer comes. (Most recently Coleman and Nickel). How do you land a kid who gets offers from UNC, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Villanova, etc.?
